Short Comings!

Short shorts and mini skirts are everywhere this summer and it really seems like its been a long, long time coming. Hey, if you got the legs for it we say, why the hell not.

These looks, inspired by the 60's mod hemlines and 70's high waisted short shorts, haven't been a huge hit in mainstream fashion in what seems like ages. But, it looks like this style's got legs. And of course we can't forget to mention the queen of short hemlines.

Twiggy.

So, okay, some of us can't get away with the length, but let us not hate, let us embrace the return infant length hemlines!

So, here are some ideas how to pair this sexy summer trend with shoes from our inventory:

1. Here, the very fashionable Chole Sevigney, pairs incredibly short shorts (the pocket lengths are longer) with a cream-colored boyfriend blazer and a pair of black ankle booties. Actually we've noticed that black shoes are pretty darn prominent this summer, so just go ahead and throw out the memorial thru labor day, can't wear black rule, if you haven't already. This is a great look for a cool summer night.

2. Tutu skirts and knee high socks, how can you go wrong? Actually there are a bunch of ways, but this is a better example of how to do it right. Socks and heels are all over the place, and we think its a great trend, as we are knee-sock lovers. Plus, its always fun to add a catholic schoolgirl throw back into your style every now and again.

3. Shorts and heels, how we love thee! Resist the urge to throw on a pair of shorts and some flip-flops, instead opt for a pair of comfortable pumps with a low heel. They really can be quite comfortable and fun, especially when they add a great pop of color, like these canary yellow pumps.

4. Perfect for summer, rompers are lightweight and fun! We had noticed the romper before, but it seems the style has totally blossomed as of late and we have an undeniable crush on it this summer. Polish the look by pairing it with mid-calf slouch boots. It also looks great with sandals, but during the warmer months it gets really boring to just wear sandals all the time. Switch it up!
